A film full of so many spooky details we had to include it twice!

The Exorcist is widely regarded as one of the scariest, most unsettling films of all time. It has earned its place in the horror hall of fame a million times over. For some people though, watching the movie was a very different experience.

In 1974, the San Francisco Chronicle received a letter which is widely believed to be from the famous Zodiac killer. In his signature cryptic style, complete with his terrible spelling, he announces that he thinks The Exorcist is the “best saterical comidy [sic] that I have ever seen”.

Audience reactions to The Exorcist really varied, with some people claiming it made them vomit or pass out whilst others, according to the San Francisco Chronicle article which is believed to have prompted this Zodiac response, found it “about as scary as Snow White.”

Whilst it is statistically incredibly likely that one will have seen many movies also viewed by killers, it adds a weird creepy edge to this horror classic to know that an infamous serial murderer watched the same film we all did and thought it was absolutely hilarious.
