10 Things That Could Save Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

10. A Plausible Way For Batman To Hold His Own Against Superman

Upon hearing the title of Synder's sequel for Man of Steel, casual cinema-goers laughed at the prospect of Batman even attempting to fight Superman one on one. How on earth could a non-powered human like Bruce Wayne face a Kryptonian and not die instantly? Synder claims that the plot for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will borrow elements from the classic Dark Knight Returns story line, which features an aging Batman forced to come out of retirement in order to restore justice to Gotham City. An elderly Bruce Wayne may seem even less likely to win in a battle against Superman, but writer Frank Miller did a convincing job of depicting an even fight between the two in the comics after the Government sent the Kryptonian in to stop Batman's rampage. To hold his own against Kal-El, Batman wore a protective suit of armor that enhanced his strength and contained gadgets specifically designed to take the Man of Steel down, including a sound wave gun and a weapon that focused electricity from the city's entire energy grid into one powerful blast. While that only slowed Superman down, Batman finished the fight by enlisting Green Arrows help, directing him to shoot a bolt of Kryptonite at the Man of Steel. To differentiate itself from the comic while also accommodating the new heroes cast in the film, the screenwriters could adapt this section of the story, featuring one of the confirmed heroes such as Aquaman or Wonder Woman here instead.
