10 Things You Learn Rewatching Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers (1995)

4. 'Paul Stephen Rudd' Is Tremendous

Amid the sea of utter s**t that is this film, there is a single bright, shining beacon of hope. And that beacon's name is Paul Rudd.

Credited here as 'Paul Stephen Rudd', Rudd plays the role of Tommy Doyle, the boy that Laurie Strode babysat in the original film. And from the get-go Rudd's screen presence is magnetic. His performance in the first two acts as Doyle is a weird mixture of facial tics, slouching, and baffled expressions.

But it is once the film reaches its third act that Rudd really steals the show. Just take a look at this.

Who knows if it was a character choice to have Doyle lose his mind in the final act, or if it was just a realization on Rudd's part that the film was going to be horrid one way or the other so he might as well have fun with it, but he begins to play it as a comedic role and it is gut-bustingly hysterical.

His entire performance changes into what modern audiences are much more familiar with from Paul Rudd and the fact that it is so jarring only makes him that much more entertaining to watch.

God bless you, Paul Rudd. God bless you.
