6. Needless Director's Cuts
The digital revolution has made it easier than ever for directors to go back and tamper around with their classic films, and when that director's name is George Lucas, you just know that nothing good is going to come of it. The Star Wars creator is notorious for needlessly fiddling with his iconic works, ranging from re-creating Jabba the Hutt with CGI, to the most famous change of all, making Greedo fire at Han Solo first in the original film's cantina scene. Technology gives powerful filmmakers free-reign to constantly screw around with their works, and perhaps fearing that he might endure the same ire as Lucas, Spielberg has moved away from altering his films for new releases (after a backlash following alterations made to Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T.). Without all that damn CGI, Lucas would be near-powerless to implode his own legacy!
