11. Darth Vader Vs. Gandalf
http://youtu.be/aF2J_7clCo8?list=PL6F730F85FA7C34C2 Darth Vader's no stranger to fighting OAPs: he kills his own mentor in A New Hope, and now he's killed an extremely old wizard that's thousands of years old. It may be hard to suspend your disbelief in this face-off - Gandalf sadly isn't portrayed by Ian McKellen - but the film does everything else so well to ensure the power balance is believable that the outcome feels acceptable. Both Vader's and Gandalf's costumes couldn't look more authentic, and when you chuck in some cheeky fan nods to the mix, the result is pretty entertaining. Yes, Vader loses a forearm and Gandalf utters the four words that everyone remembers from The Fellowship Of The Ring, but Vader's voice throughout brings him to life very well. The voice actor for this incarnation may not be as remarkable as James Earl Jones' impossibly deep tone, but all things considered this is a fanboy-baiting showdown for the ages.
