7. Which Of The Hateful Eight Is The Bad Egg?

Despite it looking like a traditional Western, and no doubt pulling out a lot of genre stereotypes and tropes, The Hateful Eight isn't exactly what it looks like. The trailer - itself a thing of beauty - suggests it's going to be a Cluedo-style affair where the killer has to be found before the death even happens. A sort of Mr Cowpoke in the bar with the poker situation... The reality however is that this film is written by Quentin Tarantino, so will likely end with a spectacular explosion of violence and narrative twists that leaves the audience as exhausted as they are exhilarated. And while the expectation is that one of the Eight is misrepresenting himself, there are already some serious hints that it's more likely to be a case of finding out which one isn't. Therein lies the appeal - even after the script was leaked: it's not just about finding out who is the bad egg, but watching how Tarantino builds and executes that story.
