13 Movies That Scored A Legendary F With CinemaScore

6. The Devil Inside

The Devil Inside
Paramount Pictures

As an early indication of how bad The Devil Inside was, it didn't screen for critics ahead of release, which usually gives a fairly solid indication of a stinker. And though you could suspect that critics would then be more vitriolic because they didn't get a free invite, the fact that CinemaScore polled an F reaction says a lot about why they chose not to screen it.

Did It Deserve It?

In terms of quality, the F is absolutely spot on, as the film just isn't very good at all. But the anomaly here is that despite poor audience reactions and critical reception, lots of people still went to see The Devil Inside to the tune of more than $100m at the box office.

Considering it cost less than $1m, that's stunning, and proves just how little telling people a film is garbage can have on people who are sucked in by the marketing.
