20 Awesome Horror Villains Introduced In TERRIBLE Movies
8. The Predalien - Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem
Though the concept of the Predalien - a hybrid between the Predator and Alien - has been around since the 1990s, it didn't get its cinematic coming-out party until 2007's sequel Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.
While the creature technically appeared for a few seconds in the first AvP when it hatched out of Predator Scar (Ian Whyte), its first proper appearance as a hell-raising adult was saved for the sequel.
And let's get the obvious out of the way - this thing looks amazing from a design perspective, fusing the most distinctive elements of the Predator and Alien into one even more terrifying entity.
It's quickly established that the Predalien can make short work of just about anyone or anything that gets in its way - it's just a shame that the movie surrounding all this is so damn bad.
For one, it's quite literally too dark - the low-lit cinematography has been widely criticised ever since AvP: Requiem came out, making it tough to fully savour the Predalien and its gory kills throughout.
And on top of this the human characters are both thinly written and excessively featured, ensuring the film fails to deliver on the full promise of the first film's gnarly cliffhanger.
We sadly haven't seen the Predalien in a live-action movie since, though with Dan Trachtenberg clearly moving to unite the worlds of Alien and Predator once again in Predator: Badlands, it wouldn't be too surprising if the hybrid re-emerged sometime soon.
