This song was initially intended to be Mushu's introduction, but that approach was then abandoned in favour of a non-musical introduction, which wasn't quite as colourful or entertaining as this song.

Some of the lines are incredible, and it's a shame the song was cut, but you can understand it given the time constraints of film-making and the fact that Murphy managed to successfully introduce the character in a matter of words. The decision also bucked the trend of main characters being given their own song to welcome them to their respective films.
