20 New Horror Movies You MUST Watch This Halloween 2023
6. The Mill
It may be as subtle as a brick to the face, but The Mill is the latest entry into the ever-enticing single-location horror subgenre, starring Lil Rel Howery as a businessman who wakes up in a cell-like room and is forced to operate a mill in order to stay alive.
Again, the social commentary - of a man forced to grind himself to dust in order to appease his place of "employment" - is sledgehammer-obvious, but Howery's solid performance and a steady slew of increasingly unsettling revelations keep this on the right side of compelling.
If you're a fan of Netflix's class warfare satire The Platform, this strikes a similar - if perhaps not quite so thrilling - chord.
The Mill is streaming now on Hulu.
