20 New Horror Movies You MUST Watch This Halloween 2023
16. Five Nights At Freddy's
Hollywood has finally started to take video game adaptations seriously in recent years, and next up on the block is the hugely popular survival horror franchise Five Nights At Freddy's.
With series creator Scott Cawthon co-writing the script, there's no excuse whatsoever for this to not be an unworthy adaptation, and from what the marketing has shown off so far it looks totally on the money.
Hell, even a PG-13 content rating can't really doom this one, given the games' relatively non-explicit nature. The trailers persuade that it at least nails the style and tone of the source material, which are by far the most important facets to get right.
With the film tracking to pull in some serious dough at the box office - even with its day-and-date streaming release in the US - it's damn-near guaranteed that a new horror movie franchise is about to be born.
Five Nights at Freddy's releases in cinemas on October 27.
