25 Shocking CGI Movie Moments That Left You Speechless
24. De-Aging Jeff Bridges - Tron: Legacy
It used to be that the only ways to portray a young version of a film character were to either cast a younger actor or to throw a cheap wig on them. Now, though, studios are able to utilise computer magic to de-age their actors.
In some instances, this has been done incredibly well. Marvel Studios has had some great success de-aging the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Michael Douglas, and Kurt Russell, while Fox, on the other hand, gave the world a real stinker trying to make Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart look younger in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand.
Worse even than that, however, is what Tron: Legacy did to Jeff Bridges. The actor played the role of Kevin Flynn, though the science fiction nature of the movie allowed for a younger version to be created by the name of Clu. If only the real world had anything close to the technology of that in the world of Tron.
In the midst of this unique and aesthetically interesting piece, which had a reported budget of $170 million, was what essentially looked like a poor wax figure of a young Jeff Bridges. Yes, this was even worse than young Magneto and Professor X, as can be seen above, which is no mean feat.
