4. Darth Vader in Star Wars

George Lucass epic space saga has one of the meanest dads around: Darth Vader. Disney may have bought LucasFilm but they wont be able to disney-fy our villainous father. George Lucas created a drastic story point for Mr. Vader that has cemented itself as one of the most iconic moments in movie history. He was initially introduced in Episode IV: A New Hope as a bad guy out to get our heroes. Then in 1980 Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back arrived. Set three years later, dear old Darth is seen leading the Imperial Starfleet and we hear him promise to his Sith Master that he will turn Luke, the offspring of Anakin, to the dark side. When Luke and Darth Vader come head to head during a light saber duel Vader slices off Lukes hand and delivers the memorable line (although often misquoted): I am your father. Say what? Luke is so distraught by this information (imagine your reaction if a war mongering villain turned round and said Im your daddy) and he launches himself into the Cloud Citys reactor core. For those of you who are curious about what life would have been like if Darth had stuck around, not attempted to murder his son and has been more like one of our five good dads you should check out Jeffrey Browns book. http://youtu.be/MFNJGujBInI
