5 Directions Planet Of The Apes 3 Can Take

3. War Continues To Ravage, With Neither Side Dominating Completely

Now this scenario would ultimately be a let-down, but it is entirely possible. After all, the ending of Rise showed such a scenario enacted, so the completion of the franchise as a whole could show that was is still present. Currently neither side show signs of relenting. There are compassionate members of both the human and the ape factions, but not enough to actually make an impact and stop the bloodbath. For this scenario to unfold, the Apes remake series needs to end at a trilogy, otherwise each subsequent story would simply be a rehash of that which has come before it. In such a premise, it would ultimately likely end with apes and humans divided with no hope of unity. The apes would be segregated to the forests, and the humans would be confined to the cities. Small factions would probably continue to fight, much like those in Dawn, and much like wars ravaging across the world nowadays. Such a parallel would make the third movie a distilled reminder of what currently befalls humanity, but such an ending would ruin the two movies that have come before. The filmgoers deserve a better culmination.
