An animated family comedy? Now there's an idea. Set in the 70s, F is for Family takes its inspiration from American Bill Burr's material about a time when political correctness was a term only ever used by a Richard Nixon speechwriter. Script-wise the episodes are in good hands, with Bill Burr teaming up with Michael Price, best known for his Emmy award-winning work on The Simpsons. Burr also plays Frank Murphy family, while Hollywood actress Laura Dern voices his wife Sue, and Justin Long takes up the role of their Son, Kevin. Animated comedy has come a long way since The Flintstones, and while it may be close to saturation point, the fact that Netflix are backing original comedy is a thing to be celebrated, always. Think That 70s Show meets Family Guy and you won't be disappointed. Season one of F is for Family is available to stream now.
