7 Reasons Why Blumhouse Taking Over The Universal Monsters Is A GREAT Thing

1. Blumhouse Knows Their Sh*t

To put it simply, Blumhouse knows their sh*t.

They've become one of the biggest powerhouses in all of Hollywood over the last decade by making smart financial decisions, taking bold creative risks, and becoming something of a safe haven for new horror voices to hone their craft. This business and creative model has led to their output being, for the most part, far superior to that of their competition. With films like James Wan's Insidious, Leigh Whannell's Upgrade, and even Jordan Peele's Get Out under their belt, the studio seems to be constantly redefining the confines of the modern horror genre.

As if all of that wasn't enough, the studio also proved just a few months ago how capable they are of taking a classic horror property and reframing it for a new generation without losing any of what made it so endearing in the first place with David Gordon Green's Halloween.

No studio in Hollywood is better suited to be making a new batch of Universal Monster films than Blumhouse is right now, and if I was a betting man, I'd be putting all of my chips on them absolutely knocking this out of the park.
