7. Best Achievement In Industry Innovation
A technical award to say the least, but in an industry that is either progressively finding new technology, camera techniques and practical effects to acquire the perfect or realistic shot, there is a worrisome idea that some studios are sticking to formula.
De-aging of actors isn't new, and while we've seen them at their best in films such as Captain Marvel and The Irishman, there is something to be said about the very idea that we can now go back in time with actors without the use of make-up.
James Cameron's pioneering discovery into films like Avatar was a big thing a decade ago, and lord knows what he has planned for the sequels. Not to mention the accolades for visual effects the Lord of the Rings franchise acquired.
If we want to still be dazzled by movies, there has to be an incentive push to change the game and be unique.
And while we praise actors for their fine performances or applaud writers for their scripts, it's rare that we even tip our caps and cast a spotlight to the engineers, producers and crewmen who innovate and create a situation unheard of before.
