8 Terrible Comic Book Movie Performances By Great Actors

Do you reckon they care?

No longer the playground of actors set simply on cashing in, comic book films are now refuge to all kind of performers, from bona fide stars to veteran thesps to young upstarts looking to cement a role in what will likely end up as a lucrative franchise. And, as they become bigger and more serious business, increasing numbers of these actors can be seen zipped and masked and ready to kick-off in some of Hollywood's most important exports. Whether it€™s the desire to join a burgeoning franchise, the want of a bit of fun outside of the serious acting circle or, frankly, the undoubted millions of dollars that it will bring them, top-drawer actors are constantly seeking out superhero films and comic book creations to further their careers. Part of this may be that they€™re increasingly low-risk. Guaranteed to bring said fortune and a whole new set of fans, the only thing that can really go awry when portraying a famous superhero is that you€™ll upset a few diehard fanboys, a subset bound to be upset no matter what you do anyway. Or so you'd think. What happens when it goes further than that, though? What happens when you€™re that bad in one of these films that it stands out, stands over and above the crashes and the bangs and the consequences of the action to the point where people say that yes, yes, he truly was the worst thing about it? Scarcer than you might think, these are some of the very worst instances of that notion.
