9 Matt Smith Performances You Have To See

9. Party Animals

Giphy 33 Gif One of Matt's first mainstream TV roles was in this thought-provoking BBC Two drama from 2007 which told the story of various people involved with the UK parliament, including researchers, lobbyists and government. Matt took on the role of Danny Foster, an unashamed politics geek, and the series itself was received well by viewers and critics, although it was ultimately dropped after its initial 8 episode run due to poor ratings. Shame. Still, it's available to buy on DVD if you missed it the first time and it's a great opportunity to see Matt before he was famous. Granted, he hasn't changed all that much, but it's always fun to point at his past self on the screen and chant, "You're gonna be the Doctor!" purely for your own amusement. Whatever gets you through those lonely nights, right?
