Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Spoilerish Predictions For Marvel's 3 2020 Movies
Who lives? Who dies? Where do you go after Thanos?
Kevin Feige has been talking again. This time, the Marvel Studios supremo spoke to the Toronto Sun, and offered the first hint at what we can expect from the three as yet untitled 2020 films they have slated. It's not just a case of them not really knowing what to do with the slots, either - apparently the decision has been made to guard them consciously...
“Where we go after Avengers; what those 2020 films are, we’re pretty sure what those are going to be… but if I tell you that, we’re getting into spoilers."
We can reasonably expect that Avengers 4 will tie up what happens in Infinity War (which is more likely to be the story of Thanos GETTING the Stones, as in the Thanos Quest comic mini-series, and not the actual war). But clearly, those films are going to reshape the MCU entirely.
Assuming he doesn't mean the three films are going to be called OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY KILLED ALL THE AVENGERS Parts 1,2 and 3, the suggestion is very much that we will be able to glean plot details from the films. So we'll have to wait to find out what they are (until someone finds out in like a month and spoils it, anyway).
Or we can just jump in two-footed and start predicting what films he could possibly be teasing and what they'd spoil about Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Here are the films that could fill in the three 2020 slots Marvel have set aside...
10. Captain America: Reborn
What It Spoils
That Steve Rogers dies at some point in the Infinity movies.
It would be a pretty bold move, but having that "death" echo what happens in the Civil War story when he is frozen in time and space and sent back to his past. That way we could get another historically set Cap movie, bringing back the Howling Commandoes and introducing World War II combat again would be an incredible place to turn after Infinity and juxtaposing it with a modern-set investigation into where Cap is golden.
Also, maybe he finds Red Skull wherever he ends up being transported to... That'd be nice.
Likelihood: 2/10
Unfortunately, the idea of a vintage Cap movie is as unlikely as it is brilliant. But we can hope.
