Prediction: Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nocturnal Animals)
Taylor-Johnson got a major esteem boost with his Golden Globes victory over Mahershala Ali, and while this may have little influence on the Oscars, BAFTA does have a deference towards rewarding "their own", so don't be surprised to see the Brit actor shock the world again with another surprise victory.
Should He Win?: Not a chance. His work was solid without question but Ali and Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water) are vastly superior choices, though of course, they're not British, so are already facing an uphill struggle.
