Batman V Superman Trailer Breakdown: 21 Things You Must See

With just under a year until Batman pulls on his heavily reinforced Batsuit to fight occasional best friend/enemy Superman, Warner Bros have amped up their publicity, promising teases for teases and sizzles and every weapon in the new drawn-out promo armoury. Inevitably, almost as soon as they promised a first substantial trailer, it leaked. As soon as the leak hit the net, Warner Bros were always likely to expedite the release of the official version, and they have now duly obliged. The response has been mixed at best. Unsurprisingly Snyder has gone for darkness - literally, it feels like Metropolis spunked all their money on new buildings and Superman statues and forgot to pay the electricity bills. There's still no sign of Lex Luthor, or the cavalcade of other heroes and villains, and they're still playing the Superman as villain arc heavily. And while some will inevitably be disappointed - to comedy levels in some cases - the teaser does exactly what it sets out to. It's about capturing a feeling, and that ominous, brooding shadow cast over everything is precisely what Snyder needs to sell at the minute. What more were you really expecting, exactly?
