Batman Vs Superman: 5 Reasons Cyborg Sucks More Than Aquaman

5. Aquaman Is A Founding Member Of The JLA

The original founding members of the Justice League of America consist of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Aquaman. Leaguers come and go, but there are seven founding members, and none of them are Cyborg. It's not that Cyborg shouldn't be on the JLA roster (although who misses the fact that he's not?), but for DC to try and boost his stock by making him a founding member - as they did in the New 52's Justice League: Origin - is too much. Especially when it leaves J'on J'onzz from the group as a result. Shoehorning Cyborg into the fray from the start feels forced, artificial and like an exercise in bean-counting. Besides, Cyborg already has his own group; The Teen Titans. Heck, give him The Metal Men if he needs a team of his own. Where Aquaman is a bonafide founding member and DC stalwart, there's no sense of Cyborg having earned his status; no matter what the New 52 might want us to believe.
