Black Panther: Characters Confirmed, Walking Dead Star Joins
Michonne joins as a bad-ass, Killmonger confirmed.
Good news, Black Panther fans, Marvel also revealed some key detail about the cast at Comic Con.
As widely rumoured, Michael B Jordan is playing Erik Killmonger, the villain of Black Panther and rival to Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa.
Meanwhile, Lupita Nyong'o is playing Nakia, one member of the Dora Milaje - the personal guard to T'Challa who were represented briefly in Civil War.
And rather excitingly for The Walking Dead fans, Michonne herself, Danai Gurira has been added to the cast as Okoye, the leader of the Dora Milaje. So you can bet that outfit is going to be fearsome, to say the least.
The plot inevitably remains under wraps, but Killmonger's presence suggests a coup to replace T'Challa as leader (perhaps linked to the unpopular protection of Bucky and the International attention it brings?). What we do know from director Ryan Coogler is that this will be his “most personal movie to date.”
