Captain America: Civil War - 8 Ways It'll Be Nothing Like The Comics

7. There's No X-Men Or Fantastic Four

Civil War ran for seven issues, and also spun-off into various other comic book storylines. In that time it basically touched every major corner of the comics universe, with a huge number of characters becoming involved in the war on various sides. Marvel won't be able to do this on screen, for the simple fact they don't have enough heroes. The New Warriors, whose actions lead to the Superhero Registration Act being passed, don't exist in the MCU. The X-Men, who decide to remain neutral in the war, belong to Fox. So too does the Fantastic Four, and Reed Richards and Sue Storm in particular play notable parts on opposing sides of the conflict, adding to the dramatic heft of it all. Even if they were to draft in a few characters from the TV side of things, there's not going to be enough for an epic all out war. For any fans of wrestling out there, it's more like a Survivor Series match.
