Christian Bale wants to complete Batman trilogy

Bale confirms he wants to do trilogy, Nolan continues to be coy.

Not reallynews because every Batman fan and their grandmother have known for years now that Christian Bale signed a three movie deal with Warner Bros. and that Christopher Nolan has mapped out a storyline for a trilogy film arc which we will enjoy the middle part of in just a few months time. But still, with all the crap that was and very much is the Justice League movie, it's nice to keep hearing that Bale is happy at WB (he did sign up for the new Terminator movie so that's another good sign) and that nothing really has changed as far as Bale and Nolan are concerned. They just have to keep making good movies. Bale spoke to Entertainment Weekly
You know, obviously the decision is out of my hands. I would, knowing the Dark Knight story, I would like very much to complete a trilogy. And I think that knowing the story of The Dark Knight, it leaves you anticipating something that really can get very, very interesting for a third. Now, the question would be: Is Chris going to be doing it? Because to me I find it tricky to imagine working on it without it being a collaboration with Chris.
Now that is a question isn't it. Although it's clear Chris Nolan is a Batman fan, for some reason he doesn't strike me as a Jon Favreau or a Sam Raimi, the type of guy who has lived and breathed these characters for decades. I can't imagine Nolan visiting his comic book shop every Wednesday during his youth to see what was going on in Gotham like Raimi was for Spidey. So there's always been a little cloud over his future, everyone always speculating how long he will stay around until he decides to move on. Nolan is clearly an awesome director and one that very much wants to make as many movies as he can and doesn't wanna be stuck with blockbusters for the rest of his career. Here's how Nolan answered the question of whether he would do a third, also to EW...
I have no clue, I mean, I just...
And then he goes on subtly hinting at something that we have spoken about for years now. It will have a cliffhanger ending, leading us into the third movie...
The ending of the film is, we're trying for a similar sense of excitement that we had with the first film. But for me it's always about this movie. It's always about: I want people, when the credits come on this movie, I want their heads just spinning with excitement about what this thing we've seen was and what it might be. But it's very specific to this movie. Without sounding pretentious about it, I really do try and put everything I've got into the film I'm making at any one time, and, you know, see what's left in the end.
I'm pretty certain Nolan will be back for a third. Warner Bros. will gain nothing in rushing Nolan into a third movie straight away, we already know from The Prestige that Nolan likes to drift into smaller movies in between these huge flicks. HOWEVER, Nolan seems to have really enjoyed his time on The Dark Knight... if the 2nd and 3rd movie do connect then for appearance and age purposes it might be a good idea to go at it straight away... AND unlike in 2005 his next movie isn't set in stone as much. I.E. - We all knew he would move into The Prestige soon after Begins... this time he hasn't got anything really on his schedule apart from the briefly talked about adaptation of The Prisoner t.v. show, and The Exec... a futuristic graphic novel he has been attached to for years. Maybe Batman 3 will be 2010? Probably not... but maybe. But like I've said before, for now The Dark Knight is in safe hands. Cue that picture we will use a million times...
