Considering how most Grant Morrison comics tend to juggle high concept, off-the-wall ideas anyway, it's something of a surprise that he's never taken on the world of Green Lantern. Sci-Fi is very much the writer'sforte, but while forays into the world of the Amazons and the multiverse have typified the last five or so years of his career, the likes of Hal Jordan, John Stewart or Guy Gardner are yet to be spotlighted in a Morrison work.

That won't be the case for much longer, so say Bleeding Cool. The website have been tracking the rumour for some time now, even nailing Liam Sharp down as the artist involved, and with the third issue of DC Nation having even explicitly referenced a 'top-secret' Green Lantern announcement on its cover, it looks as though SDCC 2018 will be the place where the project finally gets unveiled.

It's another high-profile announcement for the publisher, who are coming off the back of a particularly successful year on print. Rebirth only seems to get better each time we talk about it, and with exciting names like Morrison aboard for the ride, it's one that shows no sign of stopping (even if it's currently going by the New Age of Heroes moniker).

Oh, and it'll probably serve them well once the Green Lantern Corps movie finally gets announced.
