Dafoe & Gainsbourg facing the ANTICHRIST

Lars Von Trier's likely to be controversial psychological horror/thriller.

Willem Dafoe & Charlotte Gainsbourg have joined Antichrist, a psychological horror film which begins production in Germany this month. The $11 million movie will be directed by Danish helmer Lars Von Trier (Dogville) It was way back in September 2006, nearly two years ago that we first reported on the movie which we heard at the time was based around the idea that it was not God who created Earth but actually Satan. Now it could well be that was the movie's secret, so I hope I haven't spoilt anything for you. Variety don't mention that and carry the plot as thus...

Dafoe and Gainsbourg will play a couple who retreat to an isolated cabin in the woods following the death of their child.
Dafoe is 53 and Gainsbourg 37. Gainsbourg recently pulled out of Terminator Salvation as Kate Connor, presumably because she had this film lined up instead. Bryce Dallas Howard eventually took that role.
