7. Evolution
There are several reasons why Tarantino has been able to keep his work fresh over his ever-lengthening career but perhaps the most blaring is the fact that, as a filmmaker, Tarantino is constantly evolving. Have a think back to Reservoir Dogs; compare that with Inglourious Basterds. While both share the same unmistakable mark of a Tarantino movie, the two are also vastly different. The same can arguably be said of each new Tarantino movie when compared to the last. Django Unchained marks the next step in the evolution of a man I'd consider to be one of the greatest filmmakers of the last twenty years and potentially one of the greatest to have ever lived (although unfortunately, he's got to either die or retire before we can start throwing that accolade about). And if I'm judging accurately, I'd say this next outing looks to be his most ambitious yet. Yes, you should be excited.
