Elizabeth: The Golden Age gets 5 minute trailer!

See pretty much the whole drama boiled down to a five minute reel.

There's a worry with these new fangled five minute trailers which are put out every now and again to promote an upcoming movie. That worry being that they so often show too much and don't leave enough interest and mystery for us to pay our cash to see the moments in the film the trailer is suppose to tease us with. After watching the five minute reel for the upcoming historical drama Elizabeth: The Golden Age, I can't help but feel I've just seen a pivotal part of every scene in the film. I always think it's better to do what Sam Raimi did with his Spider-Man 3 5 minute teaser, and that's just show one extended scene from the film, and let that showcase what the whole film is about. Nevertheless, there's more than enough here to secure my ticket. Cate Blanchett looks absolutely magnificent once again as Queen Elizabeth I, as do the supporting cast of the film, especially Geoffrey Rush. The trailer does go into a Gladiator-esque score towards the end and a way too uplifting orgasmic climax in the final moments but the performances, the visuals and even the over-told story is strong enough here.
