Every MCU Dad - Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Scott Lang
It might be a contentious claim to make, but Paul Rudd as Scott Lang might be the best casting the MCU has ever done.
Yes, Robert Downey Jr’s casting was a Hail Mary pass that saved his career and built an empire, but Paul Rudd was just a schlocky comedy guy who usually played support roles in comedies which were almost always ‘good but not great’.
Ant-Man though needs him for it to thrive. Especially the second film which sees him entertaining his daughter so creatively as he’s kept under house arrest. Special mention here should go to Judy Greer and Bobby Cannavale too, for showing how a healthy mother, father, step father relationship can be.
The three characters may disagree sometimes, but it’s clear they all have Cassie Lang’s best interests at heart. It’s this which truly makes Scott the best MCU father; it’s all about his daughter.
He never really tries to one up Cannavale’s Paxton or make things difficult for Cassie; she’s also the first person he runs to in Endgame.
The MCU certainly isn’t littered with great fathers, but even if it was, it would be tough to depose Scott at the top.
