F. Gary Gray To Direct Sam Worthington In THE LAST DAYS OF AMERICAN CRIME

Once Sam Worthington is done pissing off the Gods and fighting off bigger and more terrible beasties in Wrath of the Titans, the Aussie action star will be traveling to the near-future in a sci-fi heist thriller from Law Abiding Citizen & The Italian Job remake helmer F. Gary Gray. Shooting in September, The Last Days of American Crime is based on Rick Remender€™s 2009 Radical Publishing comic that sure sounds a little Minority Report-ish. Deadline have the plot;
In the futuristic tale, America responds to a second major terrorism attack by developing technology that eliminates the impulse to commit crimes of any kind. Worthington leads a heist team that plans to pull off a final job five days before the signal rubs out the criminal instinct.
Written by Karl Gajdusek (Joel Schmaucher's new movie Trespass), the movie is being sold in Cannes but with an intriguing plot and a star Hollywood are very keen on, I imagine it will find a distribution deal with plain selling. Sounds like a fun comic and let's hope the potential for a cracking movie...
