Fast & Furious 8: 15 Things We Already Know For Certain
3. Hobbs' Daughter Has A Role
One of the weirdest set videos to emerge so far shows Hobbs attending his daughter's soccer match, and when the game is tied, he leads the team (which he's presumably coaching) in a haka war dance to get their spirits up.
The Fast and Furious franchise isn't averse to some soap opera drama every now and then, but even so, this scene seems a little...extraneous, shall we say?
Still, Dwayne Johnson stated that he and his co-stars rehearsed the haka meticulously in order to be respectful of New Zealand's Māori people, and director F. Gary Gray claims that it's one of his favourite scenes in the movie.
Also, Eden Estrella, who briefly played Hobbs' daughter Samantha in Furious 7, will be reprising the role for this movie.
