Justice League Final Trailer: 10 Plot Points It Reveals

5. Cyborg's Backstory

Cyborg Justice League
Warner Bros.

Cyborg is the League member who has received the most mixed response so far - largely due to the CGI - but he gets a bit more to do here, including what looks like an emotional scene delving into the character's backstory.

It's a nice showcase for his abilities - this time, being able to produce screens from his fingertips - but it's what he's watching that's crucial. As he looks back on videos of himself in his glory days as a footballer full of potential, we can see why Victor Stone is so reluctant to join the League, and hints of why he ultimately does too, since a lot of his past was being part of a team.

That idea very much ties into the Instagram trailer, which was also released yesterday, that sees Diana recruiting Victor for the team, telling him: "We need you. And maybe you need us." Cyborg's the member of the League least known to mainstream audiences, so it makes sense they'd want to further explore his character, and the tragedy also helps endear him to audiences.

If that's not enough, we also get to see him in action proper, with what looks like a fight against Steppenwolf and, of course, flying into action with Aquaman.
