Marc Forster heads to WORLD WAR Z!

QUANTUM OF SOLACE sure got Marc Forster noticed at Paramount. Variety say the director has been hired to helm an adaptation of Max Brooks' (son of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft) mega popular zombie-war novel WORLD WAR Z with CHANGELING scribe J. Michael Straczynski writing the screenplay and Brad Pitt's Plan B producing. The novel, which I've read and really enjoyed revolved around a researcher for the U.N. who interviews survivors of a zombie-human war from countries all over the world some ten years after the crisis. His mission is to piece together a first-person account of the aftermath the war left on the world. It was published in 2006 and was picked up very quickly by Pitt who has been searching for a director since.

"The genre always fascinated me, and when they pitched it to me, it reminded me of the paranoid conspiracy films of the '70s like 'All the President's Men,' " Forster told Daily Variety.
Wow, ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN meets zombie warfare and from Marc Forster, who contraty to what you might believe in some of the press, did a wonderful job with the latest James Bond movie. Man I'm excited. In this day and age outside of the 28 LATER series, I'm so burnt out on zombies there aren't many projects in the genre that would get me excited. But having read this novel... this is a property that could rule.
