Marvel Quiz: Which Bruce Banner Said It?
Ruffalo may be the best, but he certainly isn't the only Banner.
Over the years, some comic book characters have become synonymous with the actors that portray them. Hugh Jackman's 17 years as Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds' unforgettable performances as Deadpool, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark are all examples of perfect casting decisions that have, and will, stand the test of time.
This does not apply to all, however. Spider-Man has been played by three different men since 2002 (four if you consider Shameik Moore in Into The Spider-Verse), and Bruce Banner has been recast twice since Eric Bana's performance in 2003. Rebooting the franchise to fit within the MCU is one thing, but Banner was even recast once already established in Kevin Feige's world.
With seven years and six movies under his belt, Mark Ruffalo is longest serving, and generally most popular casting, after Eric Bana and Edward Norton each had one outing in Hulk and The Incredible Hulk, respectively.
Naturally, the biggest and most scrutinised aspect of any Banner appearance is that of the other guy, but as a scientific genius, Bruce offers so much himself. Can you tell each of these Bruce Banner iterations apart just from what they have said?
