MCU: 10 Reasons Hulk Deserves Another Solo Film

With Iron Man and Captain America bowing out of the MCU, it's about time Hulk got another solo film!

The Incredible Hulk is one of Marvel's oldest and most popular characters, however his cinematic history has been turbulent to say the least. Even in the MCU, the character has been played by both Edward Norton and then Mark Ruffalo after Norton left the franchise due to creative differences with Marvel.

Because of a complicated deal with Universal, Marvel have been unable to provide The Hulk with a second solo outing in the MCU, only able to insert him into other films.

This is a real shame as the green giant has incredible potential for another film with so many comic story lines that could be adapted and interesting characters that would make great additions to the MCU. Mark Ruffalo is a superb actor who has proved that he can be light-hearted while also delving into the darker side of the character and his problems.

While some may say that it's too late for a Hulk film, there are still quite a few areas of the character that haven't been explored, and Black Widow shows that Marvel aren't against taking characters back with prequels.

10. It's Been Twelve Years

We as an audience have an over abundance of superhero films to choose from each year, and at times a good third of these are MCU films. In the past twenty years we've seen eight different Spider-Man films and twelve different X-Men films, yet we've only seen two Hulk films despite the character being a founding Avengers and having one of the most unique backgrounds.

It's been long enough now that we haven't had a solo Hulk outing for twelve years, since the starting year of the MCU. While it isn't Marvel's fault that they don't have the rights for the movie, it doesn't change the fact that it's been over a decade since the green giant has had the chance to develop as a character on his own.

With all the advancements made in CGI technologies we've already seen fantastic developments in regards to making the Hulk look realistic, but a film focused purely on the character could allow for the film-makers to push the limits with the technology and give us the most realistic depiction of The Hulk and the destruction he causes.
