MOTHERS DAY Remake Trailer

Bloody Disgusting say this isn't the official trailer for the upcoming horror thriller Mother's Day, which is probably a good thing because I can't imagine anyone being excited to see this Z-grade looking, Funny People-esque schlock based on this reel... The movie comes from director Darren Lynn Bousman - he of the early Saw sequels and Repo Men: The Genetic Opera fame and boy, how his stock levels have dropped. The following reel is believed to be a German sales promo from last November's AFM which has leaked online. Amazingly, a distributor was found on the back of this sales pitch and the movie opens April 1st. Yes, that's right - on April Fool's Day. So I guess they know the audience they are trying to attract. The movie is the comeback of notable 80's actress Rebecca De Mornay, who seems to be channeling some kind of 'movie villain of the week' vibe as a disgruntled mother who alongside her three sons torture the new occupants of their family home they lost in a foreclosure. Mother's Day is a remake of a completely forgotten low-budget 80's film and this redo looks like it will suffer the same fate.
