If you can get over the continuity worries and the concern that it's a prequel, and perhaps some of the acting on display, there's very little wrong about the latest set of trailers for
X-Men: First Class. I love the play with history, the JFK voiceover and the weaving of these characters into such a huge event in America's past that brings with it so much more depth and resonance than the usual comic book movie. My mind has been racing tonight at the thought of what could be in store for us. I love that the X-Men stopped World War III and I'm certain the kudos for this idea goes to producer

Matthew Vaughn looks to have done a great job of translating to the screen. My favourite moments of the trailer are all the glimpses at the action scenes. They look polished, exhilarating and I really can't wait to see more. And those yellow suits replicating the original X-Men costumes? Love them. Matthew Vaughn is 3 for 3 in a big way with me (Layer Cake, Stardust, Kick-Ass) but I have a feeling in a month from now (first screenings I think are due May 30th in the U.K.) - he's going to leapfrog himself into a whole new dimension.
