Poster: SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE

For those who like their horror grisly and their film€™s spirit independent, a sophomore production by one Steven C. Miller, Scream of the Banshee, maybe the film for you. The 29 year old, Miller, previously shot his debut feature, Automoton Transfusion, for a mere $50k and employing a cast comprised mainly of school-friends. So the young director will have enjoyed shooting with a professional cast and crew including for the first time. The actors in his latest work include Lauren Holly (Dumb and Dumber, Bruce Lee Story) and horror movie veteran Lance Henriksen (Scream 3). It has been given the release date of March 26th on SyFy and, although a full trailer is still forthcoming, After Dark Films have released this sexily stylish poster: A limited theatrical release back on January 28th along with a series of other After Dark funded features has already produced very positive feedback, and hopefully enough momentum can be gathered to justify an international release- at least on DVD/Blu-Ray. A general trailer for the series can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtULQcs4JrA&feature=related In the meantime, Zombie completists may wish to seek out Miller€™s debut, Automaton Transfusion, a fast paced, gritty and nasty film that possesses a frenetic pace, with all the nostalgic hammy acting that will raise a knowing smile with aficionados of the grindhouse era. And while its premise retains the political pertinence common to the Romero classics, the movie€™s many rough edges has certainly split audiences very firmly down the middle, but in spite of the mixed reviews appeared on Fangoria€™s top 10 of the year review in 2006. For those in possession of multi-region DVD players, Automaton Transfusion can be purchased via import HERE.
