Poster: The 2008 Oscars!
Who better to create the official poster for this year's Oscar ceremony than Drew Struzan, the legendary artist who drew those timeless one-sheets for the STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES franchises' and someone whose work hangs proudly on my bedroom wall. At least that's the theory anyway. The reality is, this new poster sucks! Nowhere near, but then again I imagine this shiny/blurry/wtf is that poster looks better in person anyway.

Variety reported earlier today of the defying message from the Academy that come hell or high water, the Oscars will go ahead in some fashion next month despite the disaster that was the broadcast for the Golden Globes. Contingency plans should a deal not be struck with the WGA/DGA are being weighed up right now as February draws in ever closer. I'm pretty confident a deal will be reached. I mean after all it's the Oscars, THE big night of Hollywood nights... the industry would be a laughing stock if it was to become a 'news conference' or other such sideshow attraction.
