Ranking March 2015’s Movies From Worst To Best

11. The Divergent Series: Insurgent

RottenTomatoes Score: 31% (5.1/10 average) Box Office: In its first week, Insurgent has grossed $106.2 million worldwide, just shy of its $110 million budget. Though Lionsgate will no doubt be disappointed that its weekend gross was slightly below that of Divergent's (a bad sign for a sequel), the movie will still be a solid financial success when it's all said and done, similarly ending up with around a $300 million gross. The Verdict: Whatever you thought of Divergent, you'll probably harbour the very same opinion for Insurgent, which ambles along when it should be running, failing to give the superb Shailene Woodley much memorable to do at all, let alone veteran supporting cast members Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer (the latter two of whom especially get very little to do). Just like the first film, it feels like an inferior Hunger Games rip-off, rife with terrible dialogue, wooden acting (though not from any of the four mentioned), awful visual effects, and a pervasive sense of dullness. This does not look like a movie which cost $120 million to make, and due to the final book, Allegiant, being split into two parts, the torture isn't over yet.
