Ron Livingston joins The Time Traveller's Wife
Ron Livingston! Talk about an actor I have missed on my screens over the last couple of years. The last time Livingston was in a movie I've seen was five frikkin' years ago with Adaptation. I can't understand why this guy can't land the the kind of roles that Paul Rudd gets all the time, because that's what Livingston is great at and he can go much darker than Rudd too.
Livingston has become the third actor to sign up for my much anticipated movie The Time Traveller's Wife, playing a fellow librarian to our lead character played by Eric Bana says The Hollywood Reporter. You all know why I'm anticipating it but I guess it has been many months since we last spoke about the film. I read the book early 2006, loved it, totally fell in love with Clare (a role to be played by Rachel McAdams in this flick) and it moved me in a way that books rarely do these days. The book tells the story of a dashing librarian (Bana) at Chicago's Newberry Library who has a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel. He must help his wife cope with the many complications of his disorder as the two are often out of sync. You may think the plot sounds so ridiculous that you wouldn't contemplate seeing it but the author Audrey Niffenegger works the concept so well and at the end of the day, it's about the love story and not the science behind the phenomenon which makes it so much more powerful. Shooting begins in Toronto next month with Flightplan helmer Robert Schwentke behind the camera. Yeah, so Flightplan didn't work but for a first time movie it showed some artistic promise and hopefully now with a better source material he can show us what he is really capable of.
