Sharon Stone & Dean Cain actually finding work, but for only FIVE DOLLARS A DAY?

Forgotten 90's thesps join Christopher Walken comedy from the director of A Lot Like Love and Calendar Girls.

Last month, we told you about the new CHRISTOPHER WALKEN movie FIVE DOLLARS A DAY, where the veteran actor would play a con-artist who is proud to be living on only $5 dollars a day whilst his more conservative son (GOAL'S Alessandro Nivola) is locked in jail for one of his fathers crimes. The project sounded a little more interesting than some of the crap Walken has done lately. Yeah sure, it's a comedy but with Walken given material that makes him a little nastier and actually the lead role of the movie than we have, I really thought he could carry the flick for director Nick Cole (A LOT LIKE LOVE, CALENDAR GIRLS). We have some more casting news on the movie today, thanks to Moviehole. Forgotten 90's thesps Sharon Stone and Dean Cain have actually managed to find work and in truth, it's probably the most interesting thing they have done in years. Remember OUT OF TIME, where Cain starred opposite Denzel Washington in that big time thriller? I can't remember ever seeing Cain again after that, I think many found it difficult to believe him as a bad guy after knowing him so well as Superman. Veteran Peter Coyote, and the gorgeous Amanda Peet have also joined the movie, which began production a few weeks back. I kinda like the idea of this and I still can't figure out why. The best I can come up with is that it's got Walken going a little evil on us, and he's so good at that - he is drawing me in.
