Sleestak attack. First look at LAND OF THE LOST!

Will this movie carry a Dr. Who vibe?

Looks to me like they are making Land of the Lost into a Dr. Who-like kids creature feature. To be honest, I shouldn't make statements like that because I'm not familiar with the series. That's just the vibe I'm getting so far. Here's our first official look at the movie from USA Today with an image of the Sleestaks, one-horned lizard creatures who are not all too friendly.

From director Brad Silberling (Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events), the adventure/comedy is based on the 70's t.v. show of the same name and revolves around a paleontologist (you know - Ross' job in Friends) and a macho tour guide who stumble across a strange world inhabited by dinosaurs, monkey people and reptilian Sleestaks. Danny McBride & Anna Friel co-star. The Universal feature is currently filming and will be released July 17th 2009. source - coming soon
