Star Wars: Episode VII Script Is Complete
"We're working really hard and we've got our script and we're in deep prep...[f]ull steam ahead.."
Some Star Wars news coming out of Hollywood this past weekend and the source is pretty solid as it is none other than JJ Abrams himself! The Wrap caught up to Abrams at the Television Critics Association summer press tour where he revealed that the Star Wars Episode VII script is now completed! This comes as great news as it was heavily reported back in the waning months of 2013 that things appeared to be in turmoil with the exit of Michael Arndt from the writing duties. The speculation is that Arndt and Abrams had a differing of opinion in regards to who the central characters should be in the upcoming film. Abrams was quoted as saying the following about the script:
"We're working really hard and we've got our script and we're in deep prep...ull steam ahead.."Obviously Abrams reveals nothing in regards to characters or story details but did also happen to make mention of a casting rumor involving Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad) while poking fun about other casting rumors that have made their way around the web:
"He (Plemons) is one of the actors that we've talked to...It's not often that I read about actors that I'm going to be meeting...that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say, 'Oh, I read that I'm going to see you...It's usually agents talking to people about what's happening. It's a lot of noise."Check out the full article for complete details about the Abrams encounter. What do you think now that we have confirmation from the director himself that a script is complete? Is it only a matter of time before we get a title announcements or more character news? Keep checking back at WhatCultre or follow us on Twitter for the latest news!
