Taken 2 Trailer Hits
A new trailer for the film has been released.
When credits rolled on 2008's Taken many viewers might have assumed that it would end up being a self contained one off adventure. Unfortunately it seems that the Mills family and vacations just don't mix. After killing a few dozen people to save his daughter when she was abducted on a trip to Paris, Bryan (Liam Neeson) takes his wife (Famke Janssen) and daughter (Maggie Grace) to Istanbul only to encounter angry friends and relatives of the abductors who want some revenge. A new trailer for the film has been released; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX_4Jq_cGBo&feature=player_embedded The most interesting thing here is that rather than launching the characters into a completely separate adventure, the sequel is exploring the consequences of the first movie. It's rather impressive to see an action movie looking at the plot of its previous installment and "yeah those bad guys were killed in a lot of kick ass ways, but what about the rest of their associates?" Instead of assuming that no one will care. Aside from Die Hard 3 there aren't many sequels like that which come to mind. Character actor Rade Serbedzija looks compelling as a villain attempting to avenge the son who was killed by Mills. Also worthy of note: the footage hints that the dynamic of the first movie might be reversed with Kim Mills rescuing her mother and father. This would be a unique alteration of the previous formula and serve as a nice bit of character development after her ordeal in the first movie. We'll know for sure when the movie hits theaters later this year in October.
