5. The Bus Flip Is A Reference To T3

A centrepiece of the film's marketing (before Paramount baulked and revealed the John Connor twist) was the school bus, driven by Sarah Connor, flipping on the Golden Gate Bridge. It's not just a vehicular effects shot on an iconic landmark though - it's a direct homage to Rise Of The Machine's signature car chase, involving bikes, trucks, police cars and more, which climaxes with Arnie flipping the T-X's crane, just like John does in Genisys with the bus.
