THE DARK KNIGHT RISES 6 Minute Prologue Attached To Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

/film are reporting (and say they are confirming from Independent sources and exhibitors) that a six minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to all IMAX prints of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol that opens exclusively on IMAX Dec. 16th in the U.S. It then opens wider to include non-IMAX theatres five days later on Dec. 21st and then we don't get the film until Dec. 26th in the UK. But whenever you do get to see MI:4 it will include the first six minutes of the most anticipated film in living memory. If you cast your mind back a few years ago you will remember that the opening bank heist scene from The Dark Knight that included the introduction to The Joker was screened with prints of I Am Legend and was also included on the Batman Begins Blu-ray (not to mention that it was bootlegged online everywhere). Once again then Warner Bros are teasing us with an extended look at what the new Batman film has to offer and if it's any way as effective as the teaser trailer that will be something to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-Sktgm0aD8&ob=av3e Of course Paramount are behind Mission: Impossible and Chris Nolan's third and final Batman film is a Warner Bros production but clearly they have come to a deal because of it being mutually beneficial to both sides. The latest Tom Cruise starrer is the biggest IMAX release of the festive season and the best audience for The Dark Knight Rises, whilst obviously Cruise's film gets a HUGE and I mean HUGE publicity boost with the trailer, not only by those who weren't fussed for seeing another Ethan Hunt outing but also because they will probably choose to see it on the IMAX format and pay the extra money for the privilege. From what we've heard Chris Nolan and DP Wally Pfister have shot a great deal of footage with IMAX camera's and I can't wait to see the end result. In an ideal world I'm sure WB would have wanted the prologue to be attached to Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (released Dec 16th) but with that movie not on the IMAX format, they've gone to the Paramount release instead, where incidentally director Brad Bird, in his first live action movie, has also filmed many scenes in the format. I usually say that exclusive trailers shown below films don't usually make a big deal but when it comes to Batman I'm certain it will. Especially if Warner Bros can somehow manage to keep it offline.
