The Rock is THE TOOTH FAIRY!

If your a former wrestler turned actor (Hogan, Goldberg) or an action star with a bodybuilders physique (Vin Diesel, Arnie) then inevitably you are going to have to do your fair share of kiddie comedies. The reason being that they rarely need high caliber acting skills and for some reason, the mix of a big guy making himself look dumb in front of child actors appeals to the young audience. It's a movie tradition these days and a tried & tested formula, which gets results.

Last year saw The Rock win yet another box office number one hit with The Game Plan, and the $90 million domestic success has won the actor a big movie with Disney (Race to Witch Mountain) and according to today's Variety, a new 20th Century Fox comedy about The Tooth Fairy...
Johnson will play an ordinary man who's brought in to try to save the tooth fairy kingdom. Michael Lembeck, who helmed the second and third installments of "The Santa Clause," will direct.
You know, The Rock's good at this stuff. His comedy timing and charisma is what got him noticed by studio execs in the first place and I know if I had kids, I would be happy to take them to see a comedy with The Rock. Is he this decade's Tim Allen? Well no, not quite but he's good enough to do these movies and ease into action flicks without any problem.
